One Last Palfrey Post
I swear. Unless something really unexpected comes up, this is it.

I met one. At the San Diego Wild Animal Park. They’re big. I still wonder whether calling an opponent a “kori bustard” is PASO or not, though I am of the growing opinion that it would be an attack. From Wikipedia:
Like all bustards, Koris have polygynous breeding habits, where one male displays to attract several females and mates with them all. He then leaves the females to care for the eggs and young by themselves.
“Like all bustards.” Heh.
Just in case you were wondering, I have nothing to say about the recent Palfrey revelations.
Okay. Here.
Bustards.
Well, that was disappointing. Imagine being told you’re just not important enough to be outed by ABC News.
Meanwhile, this is very funny.
Who is Montgomery Blair Sibley? - attorney for Palfrey in the you-know-what case. Well, he’s a counsel with issues. Overlawyered has been familiar with him for a while. the Post caught up with him today.
Which is not to say that there isn’t a legit beef with asset forfeiture. Here’s a Cato analysis from 1992, the ACLU’s page on asset forfeiture (not much since 2001, unfortunately) and the Treasury Department own little forfeiture info page.
Marbella, Spain, where an estimated 2-3 billion (with a “b”!) Euro bribery and money laundering scandal (featuring a popular singer, no less) has required the central government to dissolve the town council. (A Euro is worth about $1.36, FYI).
Number arrested so far? 97.
Whatever her “connections” with power in DC, Deborah Palfrey wasn’t a donor, as least as far as the online records for the last 4 cycles show. Nor did any donor list “Pamela Martin & Assoc.” as an employer. (Surprise, surprise).
There IS a DC area Democratic donor named “Pamela Martin.” My guess is she is having an interesting week.
UPDATE: If you can’t wait for ABC to get its stuff together, Jeane has graciously posted a random page of her phone records on her legal defense web page. Have fun!
Our favorite lady from Vallejo, once more. This is coverage from the Globe and Mail:
Earlier, she alleged that Harlan Ullman, a scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank, was a customer.
Mr. Ullman, who until now was most famous as a theorist of the “shock-and-awe” military strategy, might be familiar to Canadians as a frequent guest on CTV’s Canada AM.
He told CTV yesterday that Ms. Palfrey’s allegation was “outrageous” and he would not dignify it with a response. He also lashed out at her attempt to persuade former clients to come forward and reveal that, in fact, nothing illegal took place, calling her suggestion “delusionary and litigious.” Mr. Ullman insisted that Ms. Palfrey’s final insult was to call him “a neoconservative,” he told CTV.
That’s just because no one’s told her about Straussians yet.
“What did the Straussian say when the pretty call girl arrived at his hotel room?” Provide the punch line and win a prize!
Will the Deborah Jean Palfrey prosecution be the G-Sting of 2007? Just in case, I’ve added “Palfrey” as a category for blog posts. I want to be prepared.
